The Information Systems Division provides technical support to various divisions within the Police Department and reports to the Police Administration. This is accomplished by responding to technical support calls, performing repairs, maintenance, training and managing new technology projects. The goal of the Information Systems Division is to implement and support technology resources that enable the employees of the Police Department to serve the community more effectively.
The Information Systems Division is staffed by three full-time employees and one part-time employee. Technical support is provided Monday through Thursday from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Technical support is provided for the following systems:
Installation, support, and troubleshooting of local area networks, wide area networks, wireless network systems, and security.
- Day-to-day operational support for the Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System.
- Installation, support and maintenance of the Police Department desktop computers, printers and peripherals.
- Installation, support and training for various business software applications.
- Support and troubleshoot mobile data computers (MDCs) which are used in patrol vehicles.
- Design, implement, and support various software database systems that provide operational data.
- Installation, support, and repair of voice communication systems.
- Install, support and maintain various network infrastructure components and servers that run the Department’s daily operations.
- Project management for implementation of new technology hardware and software systems.
