The Court Officer is responsible for preparing and assisting the detectives with criminal cases for presentation to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

The Court Officer is a liaison officer between the El Monte Police Department and the El Monte Superior Court.

As a liaison officer, the court officer has direct communication with the District Attorney’s Office, judges, and the court administration department. The Court Officer shares an office with two other Court Officers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department City of Industry and Temple City Stations.

Criminal adult cases are filed within the El Monte Superior Court. Juvenile cases are handled within the Juvenile Criminal and Juvenile Traffic Courts in Pomona.

The El Monte Superior Court serves the cities of El Monte, South El Monte, La Puente, Rosemead, and adjacent unincorporated county areas.
