On behalf of the men and women of the El Monte Police Department, it is my pleasure, as the Chief of Police, to welcome you to our Official Website. The El Monte Police Department employs 157 police officers, 95 civilians and almost 200 volunteers. Like many agencies surrounding us, we have grown over the last five years to keep up with our diverse population. We have maintained our sense of community pride and close inter-personal relationships with our residents and business partners. These relationships have been instrumental in making El Monte a cleaner and safer city. In 2006, we received statewide recognition by being awarded the prestigious James Q Wilson Award. This community-based policing award was given by the California Regional Policing Institute for having the most innovative and successful community-based policing program in the state. The award was in recognition of the development of our highly successful Improving and Maintaining Public Awareness and Community Teamwork (I.M.P.A.C.T.) program.
In keeping with our department’s mission of “Courtesy and Service,” all of our dedicated professionals and volunteers have committed their lives in service to the City of El Monte.
We hope that our website will provide you with a bird’s eye view of our outstanding police department. Please feel free to contact us for further information.
